I have an excel file I should open every day to keep track of my work. Sometimes I forget to open it, so in Task Scheduler I have a scheduled task for each work day to open the file. To do so, you have to provide the full path to excel as well.
Now if Excel is already running because I started work already, or because the laptop is still open from the day before, a new Excel process is started. Since I also have a personal macro workbook that is opened hidden in the background, I get "complaints" from the new process that is opened through the task scheduler because the file is locked by the other process.
Is there a way (even without task scheduler) to open an excel workbook in an existing process if there is one?
